I Disagree With John Piper Concerning The Tornado That Struck Minneapolis

Reading Baptist Press today, I came across a story entitled Piper: tornado a ‘warning’ to Lutheran denomination about approving homosexuality . As I read it, I found myself shaking my head.

While I appreciate John Piper and have gleaned a lot from his ministry, I strongly disagree with this type of thinking. Although I believe God certainly uses these things, I think it’s dangerous to say that God caused them for a warning or for punishment. Thoughts on this

Terrific Answer

John Piper wrote a post entitled John Piper Is Not An Innovator. It begins:

“I heard Collin Hansen say in an interview that John Piper is not an innovator.

I hope I can live up to that tribute. I would like it to be true. I am very happy with the simple role of blowing the boredom out of people’s brains with long-forgotten, old-fashioned, faithful blasts of biblical truth.” The rest can be read here.
